Our Counsellors 

Of course in many cases, self-help may not prove adequate and professional help would be advisable. Please be assured that you don’t need a mental treatment’ and neither we provide that. Our psychologists and counselors specialize in alleviating your discomforts well before you may reach that stage. 

When you look for our counsellor’s personalized guidance, you will have to just sign up with an assurance of complete data security and confidentiality. hen depending on the degree of discomfort you feel, you may look for a basic level consultation or more involved support of specialist – you will find their calendars on the consultation booking page and book an appointment for yourself in one of the available slots. Once confirmed, a zoom invite will be sent to your email arranging that teleconsultation over video. And from there, you two take it forward. You will be in the most competent hand to get past your current distresses in the shortest possible time.

Devdeep Roy Chowdhury

Consultant

He is an RCI licensed and registered Clinical Psychologist. He has done his M.Phil. from RINPAS (First Class First), Ranchi and Post Graduate in Clinical and Forensic Psychology from Department of Applied Psychology, CU. He has qualified for Assistant Professorship on both National Eligibility Test (NET) and State Eligibility Test (SET) in 2015. He has four domestic and international journal publications and have a keen interest in clinical research work. He has also work as a Guest Lecturer at the Department of Psychology, West Bengal State University. His main areas of specialization involve psychometric assessments, and the management of addiction, depression, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, adolescent issues, and marital and sexual issues. He Has taken keen interest in music and dream analysis, and frequently try to incorporate the same in his sessions.

Jyoti Sapru

Consultant

She has been following her passion for studying human behaviour since 1991.

After graduation, she did her Masters in Psychology and has never looked back since.

From working as a teacher in various schools of Kolkata like -Young Learners, St. Thomas, Lakshmipat Singhania, Modern High, Ashoka hall group of schools to assisting in HRD at Siemens and then becoming a full-time Counselor at Self-help counselling Centre.

She is now working as a psychological counsellor and is connected with several eminent organisation, she is also a counsellor on the government online portal of NCS under the ministry of labour and employment. She is also providing her effective counselling services to the West Bengal police force as they have appointed her as their psychological counsellor.

Dr. Banhishikha Bhattacharyya

She did her PhD in Applied Psychology from the University of Calcutta
With specialization in Stress Management, she is a subject matter expert and reputed psychologist. With more than 14 years of experience in dealing with issues of adolescents and young adult population. she has extensive experience in conducting life skill workshops and is associated with print and electronic media as a media psychologist

She also has completed a certificate course on Personality Development from the British Council to gain further knowledge with respect to conducting workshops, especially on Personality Development.

Dr. Prativa Sengupta

She did her Masters & PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Calcutta three decades back. Later she joined a course in Social Therapy at the East Side Institute of New work during 2007-2009 and in the year 2014 awarded the Michael Arthur Fellowship from Fountain House, New York. Dr Sengupta has been practising in India as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the last 30 years. She is also affiliated with the Rehabilitation Council of India. In the capacity of its Chief Psychologist, she is associated with SEVAC, a Mental Health NGO, which has been working in India putting emphasis on the uninterrupted treatment, rehabilitation and human rights promotion of the persons with mental illness. She has done her specialization in an internationally accepted work-therapy based rehabilitation programme for the persons with mental illness, which is popularly known as ‘Clubhouse Model’.  She is the Director of SEVAC Clubhouse, which is the first and only accredited Clubhouse in Indian Subcontinent. Under her guidance different milestone projects in the arena of mental health and human rights was implemented across the country. She conducted a series of Mental Health Education/ Sensitization programme for the police personnel, officials of the correctional institutions, NGO workers and paramedics working across the country.

 Aparna Chowdhury

Advisory Board Member

She is a retired professor with more than three decades of experience in the education space. While she is a masters in education, she has counselled several students and take an active interest in child counselling. She has remained associated with eminent college in Guwahati for several years and right now post-retirement she is actively mentoring youngsters on several aspects of work-life balance, career and eduction planning.

Dr. Saumitri Mitra

Advisory Board Member

She is a PhD in educational psychology, M.S in psychotherapy and PGDI in psychotherapy and counselling with several decades of experience in education and research. She specializes in life skills, anxiety management, depression therapy, OCD and various other issues with respect to mental health. With her experience and wisdom, she has spearheaded several mental health initiatives and awareness programmes.
